GilmourArts has been providing quality artwork for many years on an individual, customized basis. It is my mission to provide the best quality imagery--digital or hard copy, commercial or fine art--at the most affordable price.
Commissions for any sort of artwork from custom house portraits to scenic landscapes are now being accepted. Many paintings are currently in progress, if you have a specific need please feel free to contact me.
I am an artist/ designer with over 40 years of experience in fine art, graphic and video design, and instructional design. I am retired from one of Pennsylvania’s finest technology colleges where I was assistant professor of art and director of instructional technology.
My professional responsibilities at Pennsylvania College of Technology, a special mission campus of Penn State University, included film and television production, digital photography, computer art, 3D computer animation, graphic and web design, and instructional program design for both face-to-face and distance learning environments. I also acted as art director for the College’s website and as an
occasional consultant to the College’s public relations office.
I produced hundreds of multimedia instructional programs and videotapes during my career at Penn College including one of the first college credit programs to teach drawing using the Internet. I presented numerous academic papers at professional organizations including the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. I chaired or served on a number of academic and service committees at the College. I hold professor emeritus status.
I was formally trained as a Technical Illustrator and hold two associate degrees. I also earned a BS degree in Art Education from Mansfield University and did graduate work at Penn State University. My artwork and photography have hung
in U.S. Congressional offices and the Government of Australia. I received several awards for my artwork and my multimedia productions have received a number of national awards and international recognition.
My present interest lies in the creation of watercolor paintings. With my specialty being black and white mediums such as pencil and pen and ink, I find the watercolor media both challenging and enjoyable. My work is shown in the
Big Fish Gallery on St. John, U.S.V.I. and I also have work at the Java,
Juice and Art Gallery in
Williamsport, PA. I am a Charter Partner and
Member of the Board of Directors of The Eagles Mere Art Gallery, an
artist co-op operating in Eagles Mere, PA. |
